Wyebert Francis Knauer Jr., "JR", 72 of Delmar, Delaware passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025. He was born February 13, 1953 in Wilmington, Delaware. JR was the son of late Wyebert Francis Knauer, Sr. and Christine Davidson Knauer. JR was a proud U.S. veteran who served during the Vietnam Era. JR found true joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved being outdoors fishing, thrift shopping and shopping yard sales. He had a great love for all animals especially dogs. His greatest pride and joy came from being a dedicated father and grandfather. His greatest treasure was the time spent with his grandchildren, who he loved deeply and inspired them with his kindness and laughter. JR is survived by his wife, Cindy Knauer; daughters Crystal Ann Knauer (Robert), Jessica Knauer and Stacy Small; son Shawn Moore; grandchildren Abby Halpenny, Shane Halpenny, Dillon Dandridge, Debra Dandridge, Monica Small, Neil Small and JJ Slavinskas; great grandchildren Bentley, Isabella, Westley and Jah'liyana; brother Edward Davidson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a step-daughter, Joanne Mangini, a son -in -law Kenny Small, a son Anthony Moore and a grandson Cohen Moore. Funeral services with military honors will be held privately at a later date at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, Delaware. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to a local Humane Society. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
