MARDELA SPRINGS- William "Billy" Thomas Calloway, Sr., 79, of Mardela Springs, died Friday, July 1, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 16, 1937 in Mardela Springs, a son of the late Thomas and Pauline (Jackson) Calloway. Billy was a lifelong farmer, waterman, and trapper. Along with his wife, he has been a poultry grower for 56 years with Perdue. He also worked several years as a mail carrier in Mardela Springs. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Athol, director of Farmers and Planters, and a past director of the Wicomico County Farm Bureau. In 2013 he was awarded the Distinguished Service Award for the Wicomico County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed watching westerns and the Orioles. Billy loved spending time with his family. He shared his love of fishing and hunting with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Jeanette Marie (Wilson) Calloway; son, Tommy Calloway; daughter, Nancy Pope and husband, Craig; daughters-in-law, Denise Calloway and Becky Calloway; grandchildren, April (Kory), Thomas (Cheryl), DJ, Dustin (Whitney), Dylan, Tyler, Codi, Jennifer, William, Shawn, and Samantha; great grandchildren, Kayden, Kellen, Davie, and Riley; and a brother, Edward Calloway, Sr. and wife, Judy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and close friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sons, David and Clayton Calloway. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, and also on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm followed by a funeral service to begin at 1:00. Interment will follow at Mardela Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Mt.
