William "Bill" S. Kowalski, 64, of Delmar, died Sunday, April 17, 2011, on his 64th birthday, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, after a long, courageous battle with ALS. He was born April 17, 1947 in New Haven, Connecticut, a son of the late Walter Stanley Kowalski and Regina Pulaski Kowalski. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church in Salisbury. Bill made many friends working as a sales manager for many years in the automobile industry, where he worked for various dealers throughout his career. His passion for cars led to a longtime love for antique cars. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary A. (Lowe) Kowalski; a son, Justin Kowalski and his girlfriend, Lori Staton of Salisbury; brothers, Bob Kowalski and his wife, Bernadette of Delmar and Walter Kowalski of Killingsworth, Connecticut; and nieces and nephews, Jeff Kowalski of Delmar, Kristin Kowalski-Merritt of Apex, North Carolina and Jennifer Kowalski-Van Zandt of Delmar. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar.
