Obituary

William "Billy" T. Rementer, 52, passed away suddenly at his home in Delmar on Saturday, February 11, 2023. He was born August 1, 1970, in Seaford, one of three sons of the late Brenda Lee (Porches) Rayfield and William "Bill" Burton Rementer. Billy grew up in Georgetown and attended Sussex Central schools. At a young age he helped out on the family farm and began to build the strong work ethic that continued into adulthood. Billy could fix anything with a motor and made his living as a mechanic at Harley Davidson of Seaford for over 20 years. From there he decided to venture out on his own and owned and operated two different motorcycle shops and an antique tractor business before driving a rollback truck for his brother's business, Rementer Towing. He was a member of the Delmar Masonic Lodge 201 and a past member and fire captain of the Blades Volunteer Fire Co. and the Delmar Fire Department. Billy loved fishing, playing and coaching slow pitch softball and drag racing Top Fuel Harleys and drag cars. He also loved tractors, gardening and was a lifelong, avid fan of the New York Giants. He loved many things, but nothing as much as his family who he loved making memories with. He is survived by his son, Kyler Rementer and his companion, Sophia Rivera; daughters, Jessie Rementer and Courtney Carmine; close knit brothers, Andrew Michael Rementer and fiancée Brittany and Burton L. Rementer and his sons, Aidan and Cason, who he was very close to; and two grandchildren, Oliver and Harper. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and close friends. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, followed by a funeral service which begins at 2:00. Interment will follow at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.shortfh.com.
