William A.Pusey, 82, of Delmar, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born on March 11, 1935 in Fruitland, a son of the late Roy and Fannie (Twigg) Pusey. After graduating from Wi-Hi in Salisbury, Bill served in the U.S. Army. After his service in the Army, he returned to Salisbury and began working in the poultry industry at Salisbury Milling, later to become Berlin Milling. He first started as a serviceman and finished his career as poultry supervisor at Townsends. He also worked part-time at Vernon Esham Homes. He was a faithful member of Delmar Christian Center. Bill loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris Figgs Pusey; his daughter, Pamela K. Roberts (Bruce); granddaughters, Kayleigh Smack (Derrick) and daughters Emma R. Smack and Cooper Smack and Jayme L. Phillips (Lance) and son Grayson; three step grandchildren, Tabatha Roberts (Cody) and son, Ryder, Ashley Poole (Donald) and Staff Sgt. Bruce MM Roberts (Mackenzie) and sons, Mack and Journey; a sister, Irene Smith; brothers, Ralph, Gilbert, Kenneth and Thomas Pusey; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Griffin and Jean Truitt. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Doug McAllister will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Stephens Cemetery in Delmar. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Delmar Christian Center,107 E. State Street, Delmar, DE 19940.
