Obituary

William "Bill" P. Stubbs, 64, of Salisbury a wonderful, generous man, left this world on a beautiful Palm Sunday to be with his Lord. He is in peace now. He was born in Chester, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Marion "Buck" Stubbs and S. Elizabeth "Betty" (Riley) Stubbs. He loved his work as owner of Buck's Radiator Service in Salisbury, that has been in business for 55 years. He was a member of the Centennial Masonic Lodge 221 and the Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. 817 in Salisbury. He liked to play the guitar, in his early years he played in a band. He was an avid collector of Lionel trains. Bill was a yo-yo champion during his teenage years. His passion was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Wanda H. Stubbs; two daughters, Rashell Mitschke and her husband Jeff of Houston, Delaware and their children, Victor and Angela; Christy Glushakow and her husband Andy of Hebron, and their children Braden, Colin and Gavin; several nieces and nephews, as well as many great friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Stubbs and a sister, Doris Tyndall. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street, Delmar, Delaware, where family and friends can call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and also on Thursday, from 10:00 to 11:00. Pastor Ray Smith and Minister Tony Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.
