William "Bill" G. Hollinger, 72, of Laurel, formerly of Quinby, VA, died Friday, June 19, 2009 at his home in Laurel, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hanover, Pennsylvania, a son of the late John and Gertrude (Hoffman) Hollinger. Bill attended Penn State University before joining the US Army, where he served in the Korean War. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Hanover, PA for many years and a 42 year member of the Hanover Elks Lodge. He was a homebuilder and owned J&W Builders in Hanover for many years. His company developed Clearview Estates in Hanover. He had a lovely respect for nature and was a wonderful gardener. He loved nature, wildlife and the outdoors and had a reputation as an excellent fisherman who knew where the fish lived. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathryn "Kitty" Leisner Hollinger; a cherished daughter, Carol A. Hollinger of Mullica Hill, NJ; a treasured grandson, William Chase Landi of Mullica Hill, NJ; a brother, John S. Hollinger, Jr. of Hanover, PA; two sisters, Lisbeth Rost of Pompano Beach, FL and Susan Burch of Ocean Pines, MD; a dear friend, Judith Troy of Hanover, PA; nieces, Christa McInturff, Heidi McBride and Jennifer Burch: nephews, Edward Burch, Jr., Daniel Hollinger and Steven Hollinger; stepchildren, William R. Leisner, Patricia A. Clements, Mary Ann Truscott, Andrew M. Leisner, and Joanne E. Riley; step grandchildren, William R. Leisner, Jr., Ross Leisner, Matthew Truscott, Amanda Truscott, Shannan Truscott, Andrew M. Leisner, Jr., William G. Leisner, Megan Riley and James Riley. A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
