DELMAR- William "Bill" Harold Waller, Jr., 78, of Delmar, sadly passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury. He was born February 14, 1939 in Delmar, a son of the late William Harold Waller, Sr. and Frances Cannon Waller. Bill graduated from Delmar High School in 1957 before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1961. In 1996 he retired as a senior engineer from DuPont in Seaford after 41 years of service. After retirement he became active with the DuPont Breakfast Club where long term friendships were carried on from his work days. He attended Gumboro Wesleyan Church where he loved his church and church family. Always an avid sports fan, Bill loved fishing and was a faithful Cleveland Indians and Baltimore/Indianapolis Colts fan. Once he became a grandfather he turned his passion to youth sports and never missed a game when his grandchildren were playing. He also loved to travel and considered himself a Disney enthusiast and he took many trips with his family to Disney World. He took a lot of pride in his yard and spent many hours cutting his grass and working tirelessly in his yard to always have one of the prettiest lawns in town. Bill also loved photography and thanks to him his family has many pictures to remind them of all of the great memories they shared. He will be remembered as a kind, gentle man with a wonderful smile and a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 59 ½ years, Wanda Lee (Marvel) Waller; daughters, Faith Ann Lyons and husband, Keith and April Lee Phillips and husband, Craig, all of Delmar; grandchildren, Ashley Phillips (Michael), Brittany Harte (Chad), Natalie Lee Phillips and Mandy Zidanic (Josh); great grandchildren, Nate, Hope, Izzy, Lee, Annie and Wyatt; a brother, Barry Waller of Austin, Texas; a sister-in-law, Helen Marvel; and cousins, Janice Ward, Nancy Lambert and Chick Scott.
