William "Bill" Anthony Gallagher, Jr., 73, of Seaford, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. He was born August 24, 1949, in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, a son of the late William Anthony Gallagher, Sr. and Josephine Mary (Cunningham) Gallagher. Bill enjoyed helping others and had a 32 year career as a patient care associate at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Chester, Pennsylvania. He had a huge place in his heart for animals and cared for several pets throughout his lifetime. He is survived by sisters, Virginia Morrow of Des Plaines, Illinois and Barbara Ware of Sharon Hill, PA; a favorite nephew, who was like a son to him, Dr. Sean Gallagher and wife Erin of Boston, Massachusetts; in-laws, Richard Bartlewski, Mary Twilley, Florence Coia and John Ellmore, III; and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Catherine L. (Ellmore) Gallagher; and a sister, Susan Gallagher. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Brandywine Valley SPCA, Georgetown Campus, 22918 Dupont Blvd, Georgetown, DE 19947, or to an animal shelter of your choice.
