PITTSVILLE – William "Billy" F. Dennis, 74, of Pittsville, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. Mr. Dennis was the son of the late Aubrey and Carrie Dennis. Born in Maryland on February 13, 1940, Billy was a truck driver for Perdue. He and his wife, Elizabeth, were married for 50 years. Billy was a NASCAR fan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Mark, three sisters, Tinnie Truitt, Sharon Brittingham and Brenda Quillen; one brother, Tommy Dennis; a special cousin, Evelyn Hartsell; and his beloved dog, "Ju Ju." In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Donna Rae Parker and Barbara McBroom. At the convenience of the family, services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home of Delmar.
