William Edward Collins, 91, of Delmar passed away Friday, December 5, 2008 at Delmar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Hebron, he was a son of the late Roland M. and Lulu Collins. Edward was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Laurel. He retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad and the Delaware County Pennsylvania School System. He loved to garden and tend his flowers until health prevented it the last several years. He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Elizabeth "Libby" P. Collins; a brother, Lester Collins; several brothers and sisters in law and many nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Richard Mendoza and Mark A. Moyer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant children; Judith Ann and David Edward; and three brothers, Roland Collins, Byard Collins, and Samuel Collins. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar, where family and friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pastor Donald Murray will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Hebron Cemetery in Hebron.
