William "Bo" E. Cooper, 83, of Mardela Springs, died Monday, July 6, 2009 at Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury. He was born January 1, 1926 in Mardela Springs, a son of the late L. Ernest Cooper and Victoria Wilson Cooper. Bo, as he was fondly known to family and friends, was a lifetime member of the Mardela Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 years and a faithful member of Snethen United Methodist Church in Mardela. He was also a member of the West Side Historical Society. He will be remembered as a man never afraid of hard work and worked various jobs as a carpenter, farmer, truck driver, among others. Fox hunting was a favorite hobby in his younger days. He is survived by three brothers, Paul Cooper and his wife Mary of Hebron, Jackie Cooper and his wife Patsy of Willards and Marion E. Cooper and his wife Agnes of Newark, DE; three sisters, Emma Marie Stout of Crisfield, Virginia Lee Desautels and her husband Rudy of Mardela Springs and Margie Foskey of Delmar; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie L. Cooper, and two brothers, Staten M. Cooper and Alton W. Cooper. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street, Delmar, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00. The Reverend Glenn Lyburn will officiate. Interment will follow at Mardela Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mardela Springs Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
