With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of William David Betts Jr. of Salisbury, MD, who passed on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at his home. He was 48 years old. He was born June 18, 1976 in Seaford, Delaware, son of William David Betts, Sr. and Simmie Ann (Smith) Betts. Whether he was fishing, hunting, boating, or cruising on his motorcycle, he was always at his happiest surrounded by nature. His faithful companion, his dog Sampson, was his constant companion. He was a dedicated electrician and valued member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 313, finding joy in his work and camaraderie with his colleagues. Known for his free-spirited nature, Bill lived life on his own terms, bringing joy and laughter to all those around him. His zest for life and love for adventure were infectious, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by a sister, Bree Stade; special niece and caregiver, Arianna Stade; niece Alani Gaines; and aunts, Doris Fields and Carolyn Massey and her husband, Michael. He is also survived by uncles Warren "Chip" Smith and Dee Smith, several cousins and a host of close friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Sadly he was preceded in death by his sister, Shannon Leigh Betts, who passed in 1996. As per Bill's wishes, no formal services are planned.
