Willa Bounds Wilson, 98, of Hebron, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 13, 1914 in White Haven, Maryland, a daughter of the late George Henry Bounds and Mary Robinson Bounds. Mrs. Wilson will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker who spent many of her working years as a seamstress at various local shirt factories, such as Hebron Short Factory, Carl Powell's and Rombro Brothers. She attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Hebron and loved her bible and sharing her faith with others. Willa loved being outdoors in her garden, growing a variety of flowers and plants, all which she could name easily. She also enjoyed cutting grass and did so up until the age of 85. Family and friends were very important to her as she deeply appreciated the visits from those who spoiled her with flowers and satisfied her sweet tooth with goodies. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Coastal Hospice and a special nurse and to the Angel Network and their caring and compassionate caregivers. She is survived by a son, Dick Wilson and his wife, Dee of Hebron; 7 grandchildren, Bobby Maddux of Salisbury, Mike Bradley of Mardela Springs, Craig Bradley of Sharptown, Keith Bradley of Mardela Springs, Douglas Wilson of Salisbury, Ed Wilson of Millsboro and Linda Miller of Harrisburg, PA; 2 step-grandchildren, Richard Johnson and John Johnson; 15 great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and last, but certainly not least, her constant companion, "Pixie", her Chihuahua. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Wilson, who passed in 1984; a son, Hollis Wilson; 2 daughters, Rosalie Maddux and Virginia Bradley Mildon; 2 half-brothers, Johnny Bounds and Alton Edwards; and a half-sister, Roxie Hayward. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Stephen's Cemetery Park in Delmar. Elder Carter Pruitt will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
