Weldon Thomas White, a beloved father, grandfather, and dedicated community member, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. He was born on July 8, 1948, in Suffolk, Virginia, a son of the late Weldon and Lillian White.
Tommy proudly served his country as a Marine during the Vietnam War, a commitment that instilled in him a lifelong dedication to his fellow veterans. He was a lifetime member of the Salisbury Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and actively participated in the Delmar Masonic Lodge, specifically Centennial Lodge 221, where he held the esteemed title of Master Mason.In his professional life, Tommy excelled as a senior supervisor for Wicomico County Roads, earning the respect and admiration of those he worked alongside. Known for his exceptional skills, he was famously handy and could fix anything that came his way.Beyond his impressive career and military service, Tommy had a passion for life that shone through in his hobbies. He enjoyed the thrill of riding motorcycles and found serenity in fishing and camping, cherishing the time spent in nature.
Weldon is survived by his son, Scott White and his fiancé Donna Hodd; his daughter, Jennifer White and her companion John; and his adored grandchildren: Daniel Dunn, Gregory White, Jenna Brittingham, and Ashley White; and great-grandchildren, Aiden and Sylvania. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sharon Lee White; and several brothers and sisters.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. The service will provide an opportunity for friends and family to share memories and honor the legacy of a man who touched the lives of many.
Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
