Wayne E. Messick, 79 of Delmar, De passed away at home surrounded by his family on January 7, 2025. Wayne was the son of Jean Sturm and Lynn B. Messick of Hebron, Md. He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Joyce Lord Messick, son Lynn, daughter Teresa, stepdaughter Jennifer, stepson Michael Pinkine and sister Gail. Additionally, he had 8 grandchildren: Megan, David, Lauren, Jessica, Morgan, Hunter, Sam and Wills. Wayne followed in his father's footsteps, becoming a Master Electrician holding various positions throughout his career. He honored his father's military service by being a member of veteran's organizations. He had numerous interests and hobbies including being an accomplished pilot and marksman, as well as being an avid boater and fisherman. He also enjoyed taking cruises. To honor Wayne's style of not being one for pomp and circumstance no services are being held currently. A Celebration of Life will be held later. For now, we ask that if you were a friend of Wayne's that you look back at good times you shared and smile when you think of those times.
