Warren A. Rogers, 82, of Sharptown died Monday, November 28, 2011 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born May 10, 1929, in Georgetown, Delaware, a son of the late Hobart and Armenia Rogers. Mr. Rogers worked for many years in logging as a foreman for the former J.I. Wells Co., which through the years changed to Cropper Brothers and J.V. Wells in Quantico and Sharptown. He was an avid gardener and NASCAR fan. Family time was important to him and he treasured the memories made with family. He is survived by four children, Nancy Springer of Sharptown, Faith Friedel and her husband, Lonnie of Seaford, Bruce Rogers and his wife, Judy of Sharptown, and Jane Sonnier of Parsonsburg; grandchildren, Warren Springer and his wife Ginger of Laurel, Donna Williams and her husband Ricky of Seaford, Kelly Springer of Sharptown, Laurie Robison and her husband, Larry of Seaford, Chris Sonnier and his wife, Angela of Parsonsburg, and Katie Harper and her husband, Todd of Salisbury; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; two sisters, Beverly Okie of Rehoboth, DE and Althea Kennedy of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Betty J. Rogers; a brother, Clifford Rogers and two sisters, Dorothy Brinsfield and Irma Rider. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where family and friends may call one hour prior. The Reverend Paul Holland will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Firemen's Cemetery in Sharptown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 203, Sharptown, MD 21861.
