Wanda L. Vermeulen, 62, of Seaford, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. She was born in Milford on January 13, 1951, a daughter of the late James Odell Lovelace and Eula Mae Majors Lovelace. Wanda spent many years delivering the News Journal to area homes, she enjoyed furniture making, and her career as a truck driver. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Seaford. Her hobbies included deer hunting and riding motorcycles. Wanda enjoyed caring for her pet squirrel, "Phebe" whom she loved dearly. She is survived by a daughter Donna M. Tucker (Raymond) of Seaford; a son, Dennis Johnson of Laurel; five grandchildren, Cody Johnson, Cory Johnson, Brooke Tucker, Devin Tucker and Zachary Tucker; two sisters, Lorraine L. Smith of Bridgeville and Anita Lovelace of Seaford; a nephew, Wilmer "Lee" Smith, Jr. of Bridgeville; and her best friend, Anna Yurek of Seaford. The family would especially like to thank, Earl and Peggy Granger for being wonderful friends to Wanda. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert "Bob" Lovelace. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
