Wanda Hill
Stubbs
April 14, 1938 – April 5, 2026
Bivalve United Methodist Church Cemetery
Starts at 1:00 pm (Eastern time)
Wanda Hill Stubbs, 87, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, a day that symbolizes hope, renewal, and everlasting life. She was born on April 14, 1938, and was raised along a humble ditchbank in Bivalve, Maryland. She was the daughter of Alfred Lindon Hill and Hannah Henrietta Hill. From those early days, she carried with her a deep strength, resilience, and appreciation for life’s simple blessings—qualities that defined her throughout her life.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and a loving presence to all who knew her. Wanda had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and cared for. Her kindness, wisdom, and warm spirit touched the lives of many.
Wanda worked alongside her husband, William P. Stubbs “Bill,” at Buck’s Radiator Service for many years. After his passing, she continued operating the business with strength and determination until its closing in 2013, marking 60 years of service to the community. She also loved working with her daughter and son-in-law at Phat Boyz, where even at 87, you couldn’t get her away from the window taking orders. She loved meeting new people, chatting with everyone who came by, and being part of something that brought people together. Her work ethic and perseverance were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Wanda’s love for her family was unwavering, and she was especially proud of her grandchildren, often speaking of their accomplishments. Her family was her greatest treasure.
She is survived by her daughter, Christy Stubbs Glushakow, and her husband, Andrew; her beloved grandchildren, Braden, Colin, Gavin, and Aubryn Glushakow; and her sister, Beverly Northam.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Stubbs “Bill”; her brother, Asa Lindon Hill “Bunk”; and her sister, Sandra Donaway.
Wanda’s life was a testament to love, perseverance, and quiet strength. Her laughter, stories, and presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished by those who loved her.
A graveside service will be held in honor of Wanda’s life on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Bivalve United Methodist Church Cemetery, 20970 Nanticoke Road, Bivalve, MD 21814. A celebration of life and fellowship will follow at the American Legion in Hebron.
Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home of Delmar.
