Virginia M. Kohl Kline Runnells, 80, of Hebron passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 2, 1930, in Athens, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Reverend William H. Kohl and Susan Weiss Kohl. Mrs. Runnells worked as an executive secretary in the engineering department for Dresser Wayne Industries in Salisbury for 30 years. She was a member of Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church in Hebron for over 40 years. In her early years, she and her husband enjoyed dancing in a cotillion to big band music. Throughout her life, she most enjoyed taking care of her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Lynette Kenney and her husband David and Lisa Scott, all of Hebron; four grandchildren, Ryan and Jenn Kenney of Mardela Springs, Stephen and Samantha Kenney of Hebron, Matthew Scott of Mission Viejo, California, and Jordan Scott stationed in Little Rock AFB; a brother, Delbert Kohl and his wife Barbara of Del Ray Beach, Florida; and special friends, Ben and Muriel Reavis, Fran Harmon, and Amber Logan, who was like a granddaughter to her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Gordy Kline who passed in 1976 and her second husband, Bernard "Al" Runnells who passed in 1993. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Reverend James Riley will officiate. Interment will follow the services in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Memorial contributions may be sent to Coastal Hospice, P.O.
