Verdia M. Beach, 95, of Delmar passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Salisbury Genesis. She was born November 3, 1917 in Delmar, a daughter of the late William and Louise Foskey. Mrs. Beach was a longtime member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church in Delmar. She worked for J. William Gordy Fuel Company for over 30 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Ridgely Maloney and William K. Beach; four brothers, Washie, Harry, Woodrow, and David; and two sisters, Agnes and Violet. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and step-children. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at the Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Phyllis Walton will officiate. Interment will follow the service at St. Stephens Cemetery in Delmar.
