DELMAR- Tony L. Ross, 74, of Delmar died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 7, 1940 in Laurel, a son of the late Lewis A. Ross and Clara F. Ross Tony graduated from Delmar Jr.-Sr. High School before serving 7 years in the Delaware National Guard. He was a talented mechanic and owned Tony's Garage in Delmar for many years. He was a lifelong member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Delmar and was a member of the Delmar Alumni Association. He loved the outdoors and making great family memories taking camping trips in the RV and fishing. He was a passionate NASCAR fan and enjoyed playing bocce and golf. Tony was also a talented gardener and had a special knack for fixing things. He will be remembered for his love for his family, his wonderful sense of humor and his willingness to help anyone in their time of need. He is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Pauline D. Ross; 2 sons, Tony D. Ross and his companion, Todd of Palm Springs, CA and David L. Ross of Weatherford, Texas; a daughter, Teresa L. Frey and her husband, David of Delmar; 8 grandchildren, Cristina Frey, Caitlin Frey Stiegler and her husband, Andrew, Lauren Frey, Adam Ross, Danielle Ross, Bethany Ross, Sydney Ward and Devin Ward; a brother, Al S. Ross and his wife, Sue of Delmar; his second mother, Mae Ross; and an uncle, Fred Ross and his wife, Lucy of Wilmington; He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and close cousins. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 22, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Delmar. Interment will follow at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar.
