Thelma A. Baker, 89, of Delmar, passed away Friday, August 23, 2013 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. She was born December 14, 1923 in Delmar, a daughter of the late Ernest and Viola Adkins. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Calvin S. Baker; a son Kenneth Baker and his wife Heather of Salisbury; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Baker of Seaford; a sister-in-law, Lillie Brittingham of Laurel; and nieces and nephews, Janice Landes of Laurel, Howard Adkins, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jean Layton of Milford, and Larry Brittingham of Fairfax, VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Baker, who passed away in 2007; brothers, Howard Adkins and Louis Adkins; and sisters, Ruth Haddock, Hazel Bailey, and Margaret Coffin. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at St. Stephens Cemetery in Delmar. The Reverend James Hitch will officiate.
