Obituary

Teresa Redden Lewers, 63, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at her daughter's home in Delmar. She was born on May 24, 1955 in Salisbury, Maryland, the daughter of Dan Redden of Pocomoke City, Maryland, and the late Mary "Gay" Shields. Teresa graduated from Pocomoke High School with the class of 1973. She went on to attend a small college in Nassawadox, Virginia where she received her LPN, and continued her education at Wesley College where she received her RN degree. She was a dedicated nurse, beginning her work in Richmond and then returning to the area to finish her work as a nurse in the EP Lab at PRMC. This was a career she truly enjoyed, and she said that this job led her to the friends she waited her whole life to meet. She was an active member at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church – Fruitland Campus, where she cherished her prayer groups and "Adopt-a-Block" Saturdays. Those that knew her best, know that she had a love for flamingos, and she shared this with her daughter, as a memorial of her mother, "Gay." The beach was always a special place for her to visit and put her toes in the sand. She is survived by her daughter, Kelly K. Tingle of Delmar; a brother, Willis Redden (Kathryn); a nephew, Willis Redden, Jr.; a great nephew, Willis Redden, III all of Pocomoke City, MD; her beloved dog, "Sissy," and her grand-dog, "Lily." A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church – Fruitland Campus, 620 W. Main Street, Fruitland, MD 21826. The family would like to encourage those attending to wear pink in memory of Teresa. Pastor Dana Stauffer will officiate. A time of fellowship will immediately follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Coastal Hospice, PO Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802 or Emmanuel Wesleyan, Church – Fruitland Campus, 620 W. Main Street, Fruitland, MD 21826. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.shortfh.com.
