DELMAR- Ted W. Collins, Sr., 62, of Delmar, died Thursday, August 2, 2012, at his home in Delmar, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 31, 1950 in Delmar, a son of Mary Dulis Gibbons and the late William O. Collins, who passed in 2010. Ted graduated from Delmar High school with the class of 1968. He was an avid outdoorsman and gun enthusiast who thoroughly loved hunting deer, bear, turkey and wild boars. He was an active member of the Two Cedars Sika Deerhunting Club in Vienna and the State Line Strutters National Wild Turkey Federation of the Eastern Shore. Ted enjoyed gardening with his father and brother-in-law and raising chickens and sharing the eggs with family and friends. He was also a faithful Baltimore Ravens fan. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 43 years, Teri Milligan Collins; a son, Ted W. Collins, Jr. and his wife, Tricia; a daughter, Tonya M. Cornish, and her husband, Alfonso; 3 grandchildren, Taylor and Tanner Collins and Taryn Cornish; 2 sisters, Patricia J. Moore, and her husband, Kenneth, Sr. and Deborah L. Caputo and her significant other, Jeff Cormiere; and a special cousin, Donald Legates. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael L. Collins, who passed in 1974. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, and also Monday from 12:00 to 2:00, followed by a funeral service which begins at 2:00.
