Obituary

Sylvia Jean Good, 72, of Salisbury, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2009 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. She was born August 14, 1937 in Sharptown, a daughter of the late Norris Massey and Mary Elizabeth (Robinson) Massey. Mrs. Good was a people person and loved her work as a cashier and Customer Service Manager for Drug Fair and Fashion Shop in Salisbury. She always put other's needs before her own and many times took in foster children in need of respite care, sometimes for as long as three or four years at a time. Her family remembers her as an excellent cook. What she cherished most was special times spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Douglas David Good; three daughters, Patricia Wilson of Salisbury, Janet McMichael and her husband Tim of Federalsburg, Lisa Hill and her husband Wyatt of Salisbury; a brother, Harvey Massey and his wife Carole of Parsonsburg; a sister, Carolyn Wickham of Fruitland; 8 grandchildren, Christina Timmons and her husband Tim of Yorktown, VA, Amy Fletcher and her husband Matt of Federalsburg, Tim McMichael, Jr. and his wife Jan of Easton, Kim Conley and her husband Chris of Fruitland, Eric McMichael and his wife Crystal of Denton, Robby Hill and his wife Jessica of Salisbury, Stacey White and her husband Matt of Salisbury, and Joey Hill of Salisbury; 12 great grandchildren, Madison Timmons, Cheyanne McMichael Robinson, Zachary Robinson, Trevor McMichael, Carson Timmons, Kayla McMichael, Andrew McMichael, Dylan Aydelotte, Gavin McMichael, Kaleb Conley, Jackson McMichael and Kaylyn White; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Norris Edward Good, a sister, Irma Massey, and a son-in-law, A.C. Wilson. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Short Funeral Home in Delmar. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service in Mardela Memorial Cemetery.
