Susan Anne Bacon, 63, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was born October 19, 1953 in Mardela Springs, a daughter of the late Edgar Clifton Bacon, Jr. and Margie (Rumer) Bacon. Susan retired from the State of Maryland, having worked for the Department of Social Services in Dorchester County. Prior to that she worked for Perdue Farms, Inc. as an accountant. She enjoyed reading books and shopping for jewelry and various collectibles. She is survived by her brother, Steven W. Bacon and his wife, Joyce of Salisbury. In addition she leaves behind aunts, uncles, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and several best friends that were like sisters to her. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Mardela Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Terry Fort officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Mardela Fire Department, P.O. Box 299, Mardela Springs, MD 21837 or the Powellville United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 35158 Mt. Hermon Road, Pittsville, MD 21850. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home, Delmar.
