Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven E. Jones, 29, who departed this life on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Born on July 8, 1997, in Salisbury, he was the only son of Barbara Jean (Rennicks) Jones and Ernest Maurice Jones, Jr. Steven touched the lives of many with his kind spirit and boundless enthusiasm for life.

Steven graduated from Alexander High School in Douglasville, GA, with the class of 2017. He was known for his huge heart, especially when it came to animals, particularly cats, reflecting his compassion for all living beings. Steven's love for people extended to family and friends, and he cherished every moment spent in their company.

Steven had a love for all music, he delighted in playing the ukulele and other instruments and singing old-time gospel songs, sharing his joy and creativity with those around him. Steven had a funny sense of humor, he was a great storyteller and prankster, he loved telling jokes and making people laugh. He also found great happiness outdoors, whether swimming, fishing, or bonding with his Pop Pop, who taught him the joys of shooting-a pastime he truly enjoyed.

An avid Star Wars fan, Steven eagerly anticipated each new installment of the beloved saga and reveled in the narratives that shaped his childhood and imagination.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandmother, Pat Gross, great-grandmother, Barbara (Bobby) Rennicks, his stepfather who has been a fatherly figure in his life, Robby Davis, his grammy, Anna Davis, brothers, Aaron Davis and fiancé, Amber Cooper and Zack Davis and fiancé, Casey Russell; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
