Steven Edward Franklin, 77, beloved father and husband, was called to his eternal resting place on July 18, 2024. He was born on June 10, 1947, in Lynchburg, VA, to George and Gloria Franklin. He married his wife of 57 years in June of 1967 and the couple had two children, born and raised in Silver Spring, MD. Shortly after marrying, Steve was drafted into the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he attained the rank of Corporal before returning home. He was to serve in the Marine Corps reserves for the next five years. Once home, Steve went to work at Industrial Photo, a camera store catering to hobby and professional photographers. An experienced and talented professional photographer himself, Steve was known throughout his life as an expert authority in every aspect of the subject. Steve had many hobbies and interests to fill his leisure time; he was an avid cyclist, a licensed amateur ham radio operator, and an accomplished marksman. In the last years of his life, he devoted much of his time and energy as a volunteer for the Wicomico Humane Society. Steve is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Franklin, his son, Jason Franklin, his daughters-in-law Joanna Franklin and Karissa Sparks, and grandchildren Julia, Gregory, and Garrett.
