Stephen P. Lamb, Sr., 53, of Delmar, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at his home in Delmar surrounded by his loving family, after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born December 27, 1959 in Salisbury, a son of the late James Vincent Lamb, Jr. and Elizabeth Layfield Ecker. Steve worked at Spartech Corporation in Salisbury for thirty years, where he was a calendar operator amongst other things. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting, riding motorcycles and enjoyed working in his garden. He enjoyed spending time at the beach and was a loyal Redskin fan. He cherished spending time with his beloved granddaughter, Lexi Jo. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Nancy Hearn Lamb; his children, Daniel Stephen Lamb of Delmar, Nicole A. Lamb of Laurel and Patrick Lamb of Salisbury; 3 grandchildren, Alexis Hagaman, Abbey Lamb, and Tyler Lamb; a brother, James Vincent Lamb, III and his wife, Marianne; three sisters, Eileen Lamb-Davis, Karen Ann Drummond and Carrie Ecker Causey and her husband, Michael; mother-in-law, Nola Hearn of Delmar; brothers-in-law, Daniel Hearn and his wife, Wendy and David Hearn and his wife, Judy; and several nieces and nephews; step-mother, Annabelle Lamb of Salisbury; and several step-brothers and step-sisters. He is also survived by his best friend, Kent Ford, who stuck by him continuously throughout his illness. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2013 at the Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Pastor Mike Phillips will officiate. Interment will follow the services in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar.
