DELMAR- Shirley Walker Morris, 81, of Delmar, passed Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Delmar Nursing Home. She was born May 30, 1934 in Sharptown and lived in Delmar, Delaware with her husband of 62 years, Jack Morris, Sr. They were married on April 3, 1953. She is survived by children, Jack and Debbie Morris, of Delmar, Garry and Linda Morris of Delmar and Becky and Walt Barb of Mathias, West Virginia. Shirley had 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Carolyn James of Milford and several nieces and nephews. Shirley is preceded in death by her son, Kevin Morris and her brothers, Kenneth, Loran, and Charles and sister, Rebecca. Shirley loved to vacation in Outer Banks, North Carolina and Amish Country in Pennsylvania. She retired from the Holiday Inn as the Banquet Coordinator in 2000. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren, watching them play sports and visiting in West Virginia. She was a life member of the Delmar Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and recently received 45 years of service recognition. She considered all the members of the Delmar Fire Department her extended family. She was a member of Melson's United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where family and friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00. The Reverend John Oltman will officiate.
