Shirley M. Johnson, 93, our beloved mother, mother-in-law, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. She was born in Baltimore on November 28, 1929, a daughter of the late Richard G. Gottal and Pauline M. (Given) Gottal. Shirley enjoyed crafting, volunteering, shopping, listening to music, her Baltimore Ravens, spending time at the beach, and most of all, spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Richard Johnson (Carie), Colleen Bruneau (Steven), Maureen Hanas (Andrew), Renee Smith (William), and Pamela Walton (John); grandchildren, Meghan Johnson, Alexander Hanas, MacKenzie Johnson, Kelsey Bruneau, and Delaney Johnson; great grandchild, Logan Cachero; and a sister, Patricia Gottal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward Paul Johnson; and brothers, Richard Gottal and David Boyer. A service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966. Pastor Joel Beiler will officiate. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Pasadena, Maryland. In memory of Shirley, donations may be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
