Shirley Ann Cocron, 86, of Delmar, Delaware departed this earth on July 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 21, 1937, in Easton, Maryland to the late Carroll N. Seymour and Margaret Parks Fluharty. Shirley graduated from St. Michaels High School and later went on to graduate from Wor-Wic Community College. She subsequently went to work for Phillips Mens Shop in Laurel, DE and later went to work for W.B. Venables & Sons; from which she retired. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bunk, and two grandchildren: Brannon and Jessica. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, John; six children, Lisa Wilson, Mark Wilson, Mike (Kevin) Wilson, Lori (Keith) Hitchens, Marlin (Karen) Wilson, and Colleen (Jerry) Kirby; 23 grand and great grandchildren; and her sister Nancy Fluharty. Prior to a decline in her health, Shirley was a very active and devoted member of her church, where she was head of the Altar Guild and secretary of the ECW. Shirley will be missed dearly by all those whose lives she touched. A memorial and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 2:00 pm at All Saints Episcopal Church in Delmar, Delaware. In lieu of flowers, Shirley requested that donations be made to, All Saints Episcopal Church, 10th and Grove Street, Delmar, DE 19940. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
