Dishman
June 20, 1944 – February 1, 2026
Sherry K. Revel Dishman, a faithful believer in Christ, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2026. She lived her life by trusting God in all things. While we mourn her loss, we rejoice in the hope of eternal life she held so firmly.
Sherry was born in Laurel, Delaware, on June 20, 1944. She was the daughter of the late Goldsbury T. Revel, Sr., and Carrie Mae Brown Revel. Sherry graduated from Laurel High School in Laurel, Delaware in 1962. She worked in ophthalmology offices from 1977 until her retirement in 2023. Sherry was employed by Dr. Ollie Thompson in Salisbury from 1977 to 1990, Dr. Alex Azar from 1990 to 1992, and Dr. Catherine Smoot-Haselnus at Chesapeake Eye Center from 1992 to 2023. Sherry loved being around people and had a special relationship with most of the patients as well as her co-workers. Sherry was a member of Delmar Wesleyan Church in Delmar, Maryland, for fifty years. She was secretary of the church board and always enjoyed doing the visitation and card ministries. Sherry loved lighthouses and the color purple.
Sherry and her family were deeply grateful for the compassionate and attentive care Sherry received from the entire Delmar Nursing and Rehabilitation staff. Their kindness, professionalism, and dedication brought her comfort and dignity, and were greatly appreciated.
Sherry is survived by a son, John Rash (Sharon), and two granddaughters, Karen Rash and Lori Rash. Also surviving are a nephew, Ken Cooper (Cheryl), and two nieces, Terri Albert and Lisa Imm (Gary). Additionally, Sherry is survived by a stepdaughter, J. Lynne Dixon (Pastor Duke), and two step-grandchildren, Bethany Parker (Jesse) and Paul Dixon.
