Sheila Ann Phillips, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the age of 60. Born on November 16, 1963, in Ft. Jackson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Hickey and Ella Elizabeth Faye Hickey. Sheila was known for her kind heart, unwavering love for her family, especially her grandchildren. Having moved to Salisbury in 1973, Sheila made a lasting impact on all those who were fortunate enough to know her. She took immense pride in her Cherokee heritage, being listed on the scroll of the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma. Sheila found immense joy in spending time with her family, particularly her husband Eric J. Phillips, Sr, with whom she has happily spent the past 33 years with. Her true passion in life was her family, and she always went above and beyond to ensure they were happy and cared for. She worked for several years at the John B. Parsons Home in Salisbury before becoming the Assistant Manager at KB Toys in Salisbury. Sheila enjoyed creating lasting memories with her loved ones, often taking trips to the beaches of Ocean City and Virginia Beach, people watching while enjoying her favorite funnel cake, as well as exploring the sights of Lancaster. She also enjoyed the simple things in life like watching the hummingbirds. Sheila's generosity, warmth, and kind spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Eric, children Eric J. Phillips, Jr. and Jessica Elizabeth Joy Carver and companion, Jordan Bozman, grandchildren, Jaidyn and Jace, siblings Bobby Hickey and wife, Mary, Chris Hickey and wife, Kelly, and Larry Hickey. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Keith Carver; brother, Tracey Hickey; nephew, David Hickey; sister-in-law, Brenda Hickey; and her beloved dog "Buck," who she lost in February. Sheila's family would like to share their gratitude for the kind and loving care given by the nurses and staff in ICU at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital. The funeral services to honor Sheila's life will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where a visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 2:00. Burial will be private. Following the services, all are welcome to join the family and friends for a time of food and fellowship at the VFW in Delmar.
