Sarah Elizabeth Willin, 91, of Delmar, formerly of Laurel, died Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. She was born February 26, 1918 in Bowers Beach, Delaware, a daughter of the late James and Annie Gibson Banks. Since 1978 Mrs. Willin has been a faithful member of the Laurel Church of Christ. She enjoyed working at the Laurel Senior Center and helping prepare meals at the CHEER Center in Georgetown. She loved to sing and little children held a special place in her heart. She was one of several children, and is survived by 2 sisters, Rose Wright of Dover and Nancy Otis; several nieces and nephews; her extended family and caregivers, R. Wayne Mathis and his wife Doris of Delmar, with whom she lived almost 7 years; and special friends, Tina and Joff Chaivre and their three daughters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis F. Willin, who passed in 1979; several brothers and sisters; and a step-son. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Laurel Church of Christ, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00. R. Wayne Mathis and Ian Drucker will officiate. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Laurel Church of Christ, 1010 S.
