Sarah L. Pleasanton, 75, of Delmar, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at her home in Delmar. She was born on October 24, 1933, in Frederica, Delaware, one of four children of the late Archibald Lank, Sr. and Priscilla (George) Lank. Sarah enjoyed her work in Salisbury at various greeting card stores, such as Card & News, Cardmart, Whimz and most recently Barb's Hallmark in the Twilley Center. On her days off she especially loved the outdoors, working in her yard and gardening. She was a very dedicated mother and cherished memories made with her family. She is survived by a son, Rowe Von Pleasanton, III of Delmar; two daughters, Diane LeCompte of Salisbury and Terri Pleasanton of Berlin; and a grandson, Joseph LeCompte of Salisbury. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rowe Von Pleasanton, Jr, who passed in 1971; a brother, Archibald Lank, Jr.; two sisters, Margaret Clark and Dorothy Stokesbury; and a nephew, Bill Stokesbury. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 29, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street, Delmar. Gordon Mills will officiate. Interment will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Lakeside Cemetery in Dover.
