Obituary

Samuel Leo Kusyk, 83, of Parsonsburg passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015 at his home. He was born on April 2, 1931 in Baltimore, Maryland, a son of the late Onefry and Mary Kusyk. Sam retired from the Glidden Company in Dundalk after 31 years of service. He enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center in Glen Burnie. He was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan and enjoyed fishing and watching WWE. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Lou Kusyk; two sons, Samuel Anthony Kusyk (Tammy) of Essex, Md, and David James Kusyk (Jennifer Geoghegan) of Henderson, Md; seven grandchildren, Joshua Kusyk, Destinee Geoghegan, Samuel Anthony Kusyk, Jr., Luke Geoghegan, Ryan Geoghegan, Brooke Kusyk, and David James Kusyk; one great grandson, Joshua Kusyk, Jr.; a sister, Margaret Montgomery of Salisbury; a niece, Debbie Wilkinson (Bart) of Salisbury, a nephew, Daniel Wilkinson; and several other nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Short Funeral Home in Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Holy Redeemer Church in Delmar. The interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Mary Cemetery in Dundalk, Md. In memory of Mr. Kusyk, contributions may be sent to St Jude Children's Research Hospital by visiting www.stjude.org. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar.
