RIVERTON- Ruth A. Warner, 91, of Riverton, passed on to our loving God on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was born December 26, 1921 in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Clayton and Marie Weigle Smith. Ruth was a loving mom, a fun and proud grandmother, a proud great grandmother and a wonderful caregiver. She lived on the shore for 80 years and worked as a seamstress at the Sharptown Garment Co. for many years. She was a member of Riverton United Methodist Church. She loved the outdoors and working in her garden and flowers. She is survived by a daughter, Edith Sibley (Larry); a son, John Warner (Diana); 5 grandchildren, Vanity Distafeno, Rob Dickinson (Wendy), Tim Miller (Mandy), Laurie Butler (Ken) an Scott Miller (Kibby); 5 great grandchildren, Zachary Dickinson (Kim), Christina Distafeno, Christopher Miller, Ben Dickinson, Cole Warner; a sister, Gracie Violet Schavelin; and a sister-in-law, Ann Smith. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Leroy Warner; 2 sons, Dennis (Danny) A. Warner and Neil Warner; a brother, Lee Neil Smith; and 2 sisters, Mable Hessler and Helen Uhl. A funeral service will be held Monday, October 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Riverton United Methodist Church in Riverton, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00. Interment will follow in the Riverton Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Riverton United Methodist Church, 11260 Sharptown Road, Mardela Springs, MD 21837.
