Russell Lee Sullivan, Sr., 79, of Delmar, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born on August 29, 1937 in Salisbury, a son of the late Edwin and Pauline Sullivan. Russell worked for E.I. Dupont Company in Seaford as a textile engineer for over 30 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Delmar. He had a love for baseball and enjoyed playing for the Dupont team for many years. He was also an avid fan of the Orioles and the Redskins. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Sullivan; son, Russell L. Sullivan, Jr.; daughter, Gail Revel and her husband Matt; grandson, Brandon Breasure; sister, Irene Hernandez and her husband Mike, all of Delmar; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Lankford. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. A graveside service will follow at St. Stephens Cemetery Park to begin at 3:30 p.m. Pastor Tim Coffey will officiate. A time of fellowship will follow the service at First Baptist Church in Delmar.
