Rosemary Wells, 76, of Mardela Springs, died Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was born March 26, 1935 in Baltimore, a daughter of the late Ernest G. and Catherine May (Dryden) Travers. Rosemary worked as a Nurse's Assistant for 12 years at the Pine Bluff State Hospital in Salisbury. Her passion in life was being the best wife, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She loved children and had a special place in her heart for all animals. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Fred L. "Butch" Wells; 2 daughters, Cimarron Rose Sexton of Salisbury and Theresa D. Crockett and her husband, Bryan of Mardela Springs; a son, Reuben Daniel "R.D." Calder, Sr. and his wife, Vivian of Mardela Springs; 4 grandchildren, Chad Leslie Crockett, R. Dan Calder, Jr., Kelley E. Calder and Leslie Rose Evans; and two great grandchildren, R. Daniel Calder, III and Cayli A. Crockett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Irma May Smith. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, August 8, 2011 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Short Funeral Home in Delmar. The funeral service will be Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 2:00 pm. The Reverend Mark Massey will officiate. Interment will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Coastal Hospice at the Lake, P.O.
