Obituary

Rose Mary Hill, 81, of Delmar, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at PRMC in Salisbury, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 6, 1936 in Pocomoke, Maryland, a daughter of the late Duke and Grace Weidema. Mrs. Hill was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Laurel for over 20 years. She and her husband spent many years raising chickens and received "Grower of the Year" on four separate occasions. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. Sunday's were always reserved for church followed by "dinner at Mom Mom's." She was happiest when the entire family was "on the farm." Rosemary and "Hilly" would always spend their winters in Florida, but always made it home to spend Christmas with the family. She is survived by her husband, Roschen "Hilly" Hill; a daughter, Chris Carmine and her husband Paul; a son, William Taylor; grandchildren, Mikie Adkins, his wife Anna, and their children, Hannah, Jacob, and Gracie; Ashley Carmine; Samantha Mitchell and her fiancé Robbie Moore; step-daughters, Cathi Morrison; Chris Suriner and her husband Steve; several step grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and her best friend, Carol Murray. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Teresa T. Mitchell and Anna "Muffy" Adkins; sisters, Joan Dashiell and Libby Vaughn; and brothers, Dickie Laird and Morgan Laird. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Bridgeville Cemetery. In memory of Mrs. Hill, contributions may be sent to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 32827 Old Stage Road, Laurel, DE 19956. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
