Roland Avery Timmons, Jr., 54, passed away at the home of his son in Delmar on Wednesday, June 5, 2013. He was born May 8, 1959 in Berlin, Maryland, the son of Joyce Hartfield of Mississippi and the late Roland A. Timmons, Sr. Roland loved spending time with his grandbabies. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time "piddling" in his shed and working in his garden. Through the years, Roland enjoyed his work on his farm, carpentry work, welding and finishing his working years as a maintenance man for Mountaire Farms. Roland is survived by one son; Chad Timmons (Brandi); three daughters, Angela Cunningham (David), Jessica Timmons and Deanna Sparrow; eight grandbabies, Dillon Cunningham, Abigayle Cunningham, Chloe Cunningham, Chase Timmons, Aubrey Timmons, Nicholas Sparrow, Caliegh Sparrow and Lillian Sparrow; three brothers, Tuckey, John, and Buck; four sisters, Joanne, Dolly, Carrie and Rolanda; several nieces and nephews and a special nephew, Little Robert; his ex-wife of 30 years, Diane Timmons-Bailey; two aunts, Lola Elliott and Tina Babe Dennis; and an uncle, Billy Dennis. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service.
