Obituary

Roland E. Hall, of Delmar, 85, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. The oldest son of Everett Hall and Sallie C. Hall Covington, he was born on October 1, 1931 in Whitesville, Delaware. Roland retired from Calloway Business Machines in Salisbury. He was a lover of traveling with his wife on his motorcycle and had toured the United States and enjoyed spending time and riding with his many friends. He was president of the Delmarva Motorcycle Club. In his younger years, he enjoyed skydiving, having well over 500 jumps. He attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Laurel. He is survived by his wife, Alice Hall; a granddaughter, Lori Baker and her longtime partner, Todd Meredith, and their three children Marina Ward, Brennan Meredith and Trevor Meredith; a sister, Jane Layfield; a brother, David Hall and his wife Edith; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his precious daughter, Sandra Lee Maloney; and a younger brother, William "Buster" P. Hall. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will be held at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
