Roland Jay Aydelotte, 74, of Snow Hill, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born on December 24, 1938 in Snow Hill, a son of the late Roland Aydelotte and Mildred Ruth Aydelotte Shockley. He is survived by his son, Darrell J. Aydelotte of Snow Hill and his daughter, Glynis Aydelotte of Delmar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Ellen Good Aydelotte. Mr. Aydelotte began his career as a welder with Holly Farms in Snow Hill. After retirement, he started Jay Aydelotte Welding. He also served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Makemie Presbyterian Church and attended the Church of Christ, both in Snow Hill. He was a member of the Sinepuxent Masonic Lodge and the Worcester Chapter 102 Order of the Eastern Star, both in Snow Hill. His hobbies included fishing and watching old cowboy shows. He was a train buff and enjoyed traveling to scenic areas to see old trains. His CB handle was "Jay Bird." The Eastern Star Service and funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 4, 2013 at Makemie Presbyterian Church in Snow Hill, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00. The Reverend Debra Latture will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at Makemie Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
