Obituary

SNOW HILL- Roger Perdue Pusey, 78, of Snow Hill, and formerly of Pennsylvania, died Monday, February 7, 2011 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin. He was born and raised in Snow Hill on May 12, 1932, a son of the late Fred C. and Cora Virginia Perdue Pusey. Roger proudly served his country in the US Army. In his earlier years he owned and operated the Atlantic Filling Station in Snow Hill. His real passion was racehorses and for many years he trained and raced horses all through Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania. He is survived by a son, Danny Hamilton-Pusey and his wife, Ailison of Hatboro, PA; four grandchildren, Dalton, Chase, Logan and Cecilia Hamilton-Pusey; two sisters, Elizabeth "Lib" Wooten and her husband, Sid of Snow Hill and Ethel Hoffman and her husband, Carl of Salisbury; and four sisters-in-law, Louise Pusey of Salisbury, Faye Pusey of Snow Hill, Myrtle Pusey of Snow Hill and Marion Pusey of Florida. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Frederick, Maurice and Richard Pusey. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Spence Baptist Church in Snow Hill, where family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00. Pastor Kenneth D. Elligson will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow the services at Whatcoat Cemetery in Snow Hill. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Mt. Olive Cemetery Fund, c/o Anna Lee Shockley, 3714 Algonquin Trail, Snow Hill, MD 21863. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home, Delmar.
