Obituary

Beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, Rodriquez Monroe Wilkinson, peacefully joined the Lord in Glory on August 5, 2024, at Deer's Head Hospital Center in Salisbury, MD. Known as "Ronnie" by family and friends, he was born on December 16, 1949. Ronnie grew up in a large family with 7 brothers and sisters, moving around Delmarva many times throughout his younger years. He attended Mardela Middle and High School and loved playing soccer. Ronnie worked various jobs over the years but spent most of his later life working as a truck driver with several oil and gas companies on Delmarva. Some of his favorite times working were spent pumping barges overnight on the Wicomico River and chatting with the dispatchers. Ronnie married the love of his life, Diana Gail Reddish, in 1983, and for over 41 years they built a wonderful life with their children. Ronnie's children and grandchildren were the glimmer in his unforgettable blue eyes. Some of Ronnie's favorite pastimes were watching NASCAR, spending time with his dog Spike (he was never without a furry companion), playing solitaire, visiting his children's homes, eating Thrashers French Fries, and enjoying Sunday breakfast out on the town with his wife. He also enjoyed participating in activities with his friends at Deer's Head. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Russell Wilkinson and Miriam Gibbs Wilkinson, and his siblings, Clarence Lee Wilkinson, Pat Scribner, Norman Wilkinson, Troy Wilkinson, Delores Wilkinson, and Deborah Banhegyi. Left to cherish memories of him, including his wife, are children Robert Wilkinson (Tracy), Danah Artis (DeVon), Roni Gail Williams (Glenn), and Dean Wilkinson (Kelly Valin). His sister Denise Shrewsbury and special niece Julie Humphrey (David). His grandchildren are Robert, Matthew, and Ryan Wilkinson, and Gabriela and Giavanna Artis. Sister and brother-in-law Linda and Donald Shockley. Brother-in-law Jeffrey Reddish and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to offer their sincere gratitude to the staff and residents who were more like family at Deer's Head Hospital Center. We will truly miss your friendship and dedication to caring for Ronnie in his final years. No public funeral services will be offered in keeping with Ronnie's wishes. In memory of Ronnie, please consider donating to the volunteers and activities of Deer's Head Hospital Center who make the residents lives more enjoyable.
