It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Douglas Wilks, who left us on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on December 2, 1963, in Baltimore, MD, Doug was a true Marylander at heart, spending many happy years in Delmar, MD. He spent most of his professional life as an auto glass technician, a job he took great pride in. Outside of work, Doug had a passion for life's simple pleasures. He adored his loyal dog, Spike, who was always by his side. Doug had a special spot in his heart for the picturesque shores of Ocean City, MD, where he loved to indulge in pizza and Thrasher's fries. He was also a staunch supporter of the Orioles and Ravens, always ready to cheer for his teams. More than anything, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his beloved children, Heather Wilks, Holly Colby (Brian), and Travis Wilks, and his cherished grandchildren—Skylar Grim, Autumn Colby, Thomas Grim, Rylei Wilks, and Colton Wilks. Doug is also survived by his loving mother, Elizabeth Ann (Wendt) Wilks, and his brother, Jeffrey Wilks (Crystal). He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Frederick Wilks. Memorial services will be held to honor Doug's life at 11am on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Christ Lutheran Church, 315 N. Shipley Road, Seaford, DE 19973. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. In honor of Doug's love for animals, memorial contributions may be sent to the Wicomico County Humane Society, 5130 Citation Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.
