Obituary

Robert C. Moore, II, of Delmar, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at his sister's home in Delmar, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 28, 1960 in Seaford, a son of the late Robert "Bobby" C. Moore, Sr. and Mary Louise Moore. Robert graduated from Delmar Jr.-Sr. High School with the class of 1979, where he was a member of the FFA. His love of the outdoors and the land led him to a lifetime of working on his farm raising grains and corn. He also had a small vegetable garden that he tended. He also loved horses and trained and raced for many years. He was a member of the U.S. Trotters Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching all sports, especially horseracing. He is survived by his wife, Maggie M. Moore; 3 children, Kristin Moore, Robert (Robbie) C. Moore, III and Shelby Moore, all of Delmar; 2 sisters, Terry Moore and Sandy Beach (David), both of Delmar; a special niece, who was his caregiver, Jessi Beach; other nieces, Kelly Sockriter and Maribeth Singleton (Adam); a nephew, David "DayDay" Beach. II; a special uncle, Ricky Moore and his sons, Mickey and Little Ricky; his lifelong friend, Dickie Nichols of Delmar; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where family and friends may call from 3:00 to 4:00. David Brittingham, family friend and speaker, will officiate. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation, P.O.
