DELMAR- Robert J. McAllister, "Bob", 82, of Delmar, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born October 31, 1931 on Elliott's Island in Maryland, a son of the late Omar and Natalie Sue (Marshall) McAllister. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed being a member of the 29th Division and frequently attended their monthly gatherings. He was also a member of the Princess Anne American Legion, Post 94. He retired in 1993 after 41 years of service working in service at Dresser Wayne in Salisbury. He was an active member of Union United Methodist Church in Salisbury and a Certified Lay Minister with the United Methodist Conference. As a Lay Minister he preached at various churches and was always willing to spread the word of God with anyone he came into contact with. He never met a stranger and will be remembered for his wonderful smile and gentle spirit. He was an accomplished wood worker and an avid fan of the Delmar High football team. His true passion was spending time with and making memories with his kids and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Peek. He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Anna Lee McAllister; a daughter, Bonnie Smith (Richard) of Salisbury; 4 sons, Jim McAllister of Fruitland, David Goslee (Janie) of Delmar, Jimmy Goslee (Belle) of Bishopville and Wayne Goslee (Elsie) of Millsboro; 8 grandchildren, Bryan "Smitty" Smith, Lindsey Goslee, Jocelyn Aydelotte, Lauren Goslee, Bailey Goslee, Jamie Goslee, Lewis Goslee and Peyton Goslee; 5 great grandchildren; a brother, Kenny McAllister; 2 sisters, Betty Hawkins and Anne Malone; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Union United Methodist Church, 4218 Union Church Road, Salisbury, where family and friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00. The Reverends John L. Stark and Robert Hawkins will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Coastal Hospice, P.O.
